Knowing Right From Wrong & Acting Congruently

We have all learned the difference between right and wrong. We know the consequences our thoughts and actions can encounter but at some point we all make the choice to either re-act or respond. Re-act often comes from a negative, fighting feeling where as responding comes from an understanding or an opportunity created by not reacting.
I let things 'be' as they were for many years. Always striving to be more, do be better, to work smarter not harder. I tried to be the difference. I succeeded in several areas. Areas like establishing a personal brand based on honor and integrity. Offering more than what was expected and often if not always adding value and creating the WOW moment. But what happens when this all turns sour? When an employee ( a person) is asked to lie, cheat and play the game?
Is this the time and the opportunity to stand up for ones beliefs? Is it the time to create the change so desperately in need? What if others don't agree, then what? Do you still have a leg to stand on. Does a person still commit to honoring their values and facing the consequences of 'rocking the boat'?
I think we as individuals need to take a stand. In order to create the change we hear so much about these days it takes a whole lot of courage and a strong foundation of core values like integrity and honor. The change I am hoping for is a complete dismissal of negative actions, lying and cheating, bullying and harassment. My intent is to create a positive outcome that benefits customers, employees, management and the corporate leaders.
There are new and better ways to do business and they come from a new way of thinking. A new brand of leadership, a better way to empower people other than intimidation. I am one person taking on a big task. But with a lot of effort and tremendous encouragement I will commit to being the change I want to see in the world I am creating.
